Cost Disclosure Obligations: How to get it right & maximise
your cost recovery.
It is not uncommon for even experienced legal practitioners, particularly those practitioners who have previously always
managed to resolve the question of costs without resorting to formal assessment or taxation, to have only a rudimentary idea of
the workings of the more formal aspects of costs resolution. In particular, even when practitioners may be skilled in the art of
negotiating on behalf of their clients during the conduct of a matter they are sometimes at a loss to protect their own interests
when it comes to the question of unpaid solicitor/client costs.
The aim of this seminar is to provide legal practitioners with an introduction to the costs disclosure requirements of the Legal
Profession Act 2004. During the seminar we will consider a range of matters affecting the recovery of practitioner and client costs
as well as issues that may affect costs recovery for your client. We will also provide tips to help minimise hassles and costs losses.
